Tax season
Need your money sooner?
If you qualify, a refund advance puts up to $7,500 of your federal refund in your hands before the IRS releases it. It is a loan against your refund, and the lender decides.

How it works
$7,500
Maximum advance, subject to approval
Four steps, and one of them is not ours.
01
File with us
The advance is tied to a return we prepare. It is applied for as part of filing, not separately.
02
Apply
We submit the application to the lender with your return. You are not applying to Mega Financial.
03
The lender decides
Approval, the amount offered and the terms are the lender's decision. Some applications are declined.
04
Funds, then settlement
If approved, you receive the advance. When the IRS releases your refund, it repays the advance.
02
What to bring
What to bring.
The advance is applied for with your return, so everything needed to file is needed here too.
- Photo ID
- Social Security cards or numbers for everyone on the return
- All W-2s and 1099s
- Bank routing and account number
- Last year’s return, if you have it
Before you sign anything

Questions
The questions people actually ask.
Short answers, including the ones that are inconvenient.
- Is this a bigger refund?
- No. It is a loan against the refund you were already going to get. The refund amount does not change.
- Will I definitely be approved?
- No. Approval is the lender's decision and not everyone qualifies. You may also be approved for less than the maximum.
- Does it make the IRS faster?
- No. The IRS pays on its own schedule. The advance only moves money to you sooner; the refund still settles the loan when it arrives.
- What if my refund is smaller than expected?
- The lender's terms govern what happens, including any offset or adjustment. Read them before you sign — we will go through them with you.
- What does it cost?
- Fees and terms are set by the lender and are disclosed to you before you accept. Ask the office for the current terms; do not rely on last year's.
- Can I file without it?
- Yes, and most people do. The advance is an option, not a condition of filing here.

Approval determined by MetaBank. Terms and eligibility apply.
A refund advance is an optional loan offered by a third-party lender against your anticipated federal tax refund. It is not a refund, it does not increase your refund, and it does not change when the IRS issues your refund.
Approval is determined by the lender, not by Mega Financial. Not all applicants are approved. The amount offered may be less than the maximum advertised, and is based on the lender’s criteria and your anticipated refund.
Fees, interest if any, repayment terms and the treatment of a refund that comes in lower than expected are all governed by the lender’s agreement. Those terms are disclosed to you before you accept, and you should read them before signing.
Availability is seasonal and terms change year to year. Ask the office for the current year’s programme details rather than relying on a previous season.
Next step
File first. Then decide.
Come in, get the return prepared, and look at the advance with real numbers in front of you rather than an estimate.
